About the Wine Committee

The Wine Committee supports our mission throughout the year by hosting an international wine competition with over 1,000 entries judged over three days by a highly experienced panel that selects the award-winning wines. A Champion Wine Auction & Dinner is held in November as well as Uncork & Unwind Wine events in the community. During the annual San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, the committee hosts the H-E-B sponsored Wine Garden, which includes wines by the taste and glass and bottle plus weekend educational seminars and wine demos throughout the 18 days.

2024 - 2025 Champion Wine Competition

The 14th Annual San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Wine Competition was held on Monday and Tuesday, Sept 30 – Oct 1, 2024, followed by a Championship Round on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. A highly experienced and professional panel of 60 judges were invited to taste and score 1,025 wines to select our award-winning wines for the 2024-25 Rodeo events. Although the competition takes place in 2024, the award year will be represented as 2025 coinciding with the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo in February 2025.

Entries are now closed for 2024-25 competition season.

A press release announcing the Top 14 Champion winners will be shared with media and posted here no later than Tuesday, October 8th. All award winners will be notified no later than Tuesday, Oct 15th. The Top 14 Champions, Double Gold and Top of Class wines will be celebrated at the Champion Wine Auction & Dinner on Thursday, November 21st at the Alzafar Shrine Auditorium and showcased in the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Wine Garden sponsored by H-E-B on Feb 6-23, 2025.
